Things were looking. promising. 4 straight series victories against good teams too, including a sweep. Finally back to a few games under .500 with a five game series with the Orioles looming. It seemed like finally, the season was turning around. Then an 8-2 lead blown after entering the 7th inning. Then a 10-0 shutout in the series finale to lose the series. To the Orioles of all teams. Then the Reds come to town. Perfect for a bounce back spot, win those two games and head to the West Coast with some good vibes. But nope. Instead 18 straight innings, 1 run scored. To two of the lower tier teams in Major League Baseball. The worst part of it all is it was after the team couldn't seem to stop scoring. Over night they just disappeared. Both runs against the Reds hurt too, both scoring on throwing errors. Raffy's is inexcusable as he has to make that play. Xander still needs to make that throw, but after making a great play to get to the ball it is not as bad. Franchy probably needs to make that play, but still the game needs to be won. Score more than two against the Reds. Both errors prove to be costly as without one of them, the small rally in the 9th ties that game. Some brutal at-bats all game, especially in the 9th after Kiké and Raffy both get into scoring position. It shouldn't be that hard, especially with how the team had been hitting to get them both across. Now you need to win tomorrow. It shouldn't be that way, but the game tomorrow against the Reds has become the most important game of the season to date. And you can't blame anyone but yourself.
